Seth Howell

Chief Pilot, Senior Flight Instructor II CFI, CFII Seth is the Chief Flight Instructor and received his training out of the Reid-Hillview airport. As a CFI/CFII he has given over 1,700 hours of instruction in a variety of aircraft ranging from light sports to the C400. He is committed to providing a fun and safe learning environment. Whether you want to take your first introductory flight, expand to instrument training, or work toward the completion of your commercial certificate, Seth is excited to help you succeed!

Gene Hudson

Senior Flight Instructor II, Assistant Chief CFI, CFII, MEI Gene is an Assistant Chief Flight Instructor with over 16,000 hours of flight time. He is an FAASTeam representative, and has delivered over 1000 public presentations in the FAA Safety Program. He has lectured on aviation safety, human factors and precision/workload reduction flying techniques at national venues, including AOPA and the EAA (Oshkosh). He has experience in over 100 aircraft types, including singles, twins, piston, turbine, round gauge and glass cockpit aircraft. He has published articles in Plane and Pilot magazines, and the USAF magazine Safety. Gene has developed unique processes for teaching flight skills to a higher level of precision while reducing workload.

Cecil Chapman

Senior Flight Instructor II CFI Cecil is an instructor with an FAA Gold Seal. He has given over 4,000 hours of instruction and is devoted to full-time, high-quality flight training, for the benefit of his students.

Nofal Beher

Senior Flight Instructor, Assistant Chief CFI Nofal Beher is an Assistant Chief Flight Instructor and has been flying since 1997. He received his training in Oakland California and has over 5,000 hours of flight time. He has been a CFI for over 14 years and has 1,600 hours of instruction given. He has flown everything from Cessna 172 to Bombardier CRJ200 jet aircraft. He has many years of teaching and airline experience under his belt. He has a passion for teaching and is eager to share the joy of flying.

Scott Bunch

Senior Flight Instructor CFI Scott Bunch’s original introduction to flying came from his grandfather who flew for Pan American Airways. Scott began his pursuit of aviation at Reid-Hillview Airport in 1993. Since that time, Scott graduated from Foothill Community College with an Associate of Science degree in Aviation Technology and continued onto San Jose State University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Administration of Justice. Scott earned his Certified Flight Instructor Certificate and is committed to meeting the individual needs of every student to achieve success. Scott has flown all over the United States and has previous airline experience. He is committed to providing a safe and fun learning environment.

Mark Nelson

Senior Flight Instructor CFI, CFII Mark is a Senior Flight Instructor with over 1200 hours of flight experience and 2000 hours of instruction given. He has worked hard to develop the International Academy here at Trade Winds, giving him a great deal of experience in all areas of training. Mark is certified to teach Private, Instrument and Commercial, along with Sport, Recreational and ATP.

Jason Park

Senior Flight Instructor CFI, CFII Jason Park started flying in 2007 out of San Diego. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Technology from San Diego Christian College in 2011. Jason has both a CFI and a CFII with over 1100 hours of flight time. He is certified to teach single private, single commercial and instrument flying. He is excited to meet new students at any time to answer any questions or to go fly!

Donald MacLennan

Advanced Flight Instructor CFI Don has been flying since 1993 and received his Instrument, Commercial, Multi engine and CFI ratings at Trade Winds Aviation. He also has an A&P certificate and occasionally helps out with maintenance. A flying enthusiast with 1800 hours of personal flying, he has made two Atlantic crossings and takes great pleasure in teaching new students how to fly. He has over 1000 hours in a Turbo Mooney and over 300 hours in a Cessna 421. Since retiring from the semiconductor industry, flying has become Don's passion and he would be very happy to share his experiences with you.
