Private Pilot Ground School Class
This 12 week course meets one evening a week. Using the Jeppesen Sanderson Private Pilot manual, a Certificate Flight Instructor will teach a small group of students in a classroom environment all the elements needed to complete the Federal Aviation Administration Private Pilot Written Exam. Topics covered include: aerodynamic theory, aircraft systems, weight and balance, airspace, Federal Aviation Regulations, weather, and flight physiology.
Instrument Ground School Class
This 10 week course meets one evening a week and is designed to complement a student's Instrument flying program. Using the Jeppesen Sanderson Instrument/Commercial manual, an Instrument Certificated Flight Instructor will teach a small group of students advanced weather theory, advanced navigation, and basic instrument flying principles. Upon completion the student will be ready to complete the Federal Aviation Administration Instrument Written Exam.
Pilot Proficiency Award Program "W.I.N.G.S"
Encouraging pilots to participate in a continuous personal recurrent program, Trade Winds Aviation is one of the Bay Area's leading sponsors of this FAA safety program. The second Thursday of every month all students and pilots are welcome and encouraged to attend this free seminar from 6:30pm- 8:30pm. Every month a different topic relating to aviation safety will be covered. Guest speakers in the past have included Oakland Flight Service Weather Briefers, Northern California Approach Controllers, industry leading Medical Examiners and attorneys, just to name a few.
