About Us

Trade Winds two-runway Reid-Hillview airport and adjacent training area sit surrounded by ridges splashed with watercolor blotches of green, which pilots-in-training survey from wide cockpit windows as they follow the official Cessna training program. Students set their own pace as they progress through lessons in cross-country flight, night flying, and navigation, all augmented by online training, practical flight sessions, and heckling from birds. When not guiding pupils through the valley’s consistently clear skies, the staff help maintain Trade Winds’ fleet of Cessna and Remos aircraft, many of which have features such as satellite radio, autopilot, GPS maps, and spare commas for absent-minded skywriters.

Nationally Honored Flight School

There are many people who have a desire to fly, but very few of them make it all the way into our group of certificated pilots. The AOPA Flight Training Excellence Awards, brought to you by Flight Training magazine, will recognize and celebrate those who provide a customer experience that supports student pilots and facilitates their entry into all aspects of the aviation community.

The award recipients will be named from the results of the 2016 Flight Training Poll. The Poll is based on AOPA’s extensive research into the optimal flight training experience and focuses on four key factors: educational quality; customer focus; community; and information sharing.

What is a Cessna Pilot Center?

A Cessna Pilot Center (CPC) is a specially selected flight school that represents top-quality, professional flight training. You’d have to look long and hard to find schools this good. Each CPC has state-of-the-art training facilities incorporating the only integrated flight-training system available.

CPCs also have clean, quiet study areas and classrooms, and new aircraft with strict maintenance requirements and modern components.

Cessna Pilot Centers are associated with The Cessna Aircraft Company and Cessna ensures that they maintain the standards that have helped Cessna remain successful for over 75 years. Cessna requires all CPCs to excel in customer service, with well-trained, professional instructors. They’re able to answer your questions and provide guidance throughout your aviation adventure, from discovery flight through buying your first airplane.
